Cinnamon Chip Scones

Ingredients:
3 1/4 cups flour
1/3 cup sugar
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup cold butter
1 cup buttermilk
10 oz. Cinnamon baking chips Topping
2 1/2 T. melted butter
2 T. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl.
Cut in the cold butter with a pastry blender, until it resembles course crumbs. Stir in buttermilk until moistened.
Fold in cinnamon chips. Knead gently 10-12 times or until dough is no longer sticky on a lightly floured surface. Cut the dough in half, then roll each portion into a 7 inch circle. Brush each circle with melted butter.
In a separate bowl combine sugar and cinnamon for topping. Sprinkle onto dough circles. Cut each circle into 6 or 8 wedges. Separate wedges and place on an ungreased baking sheet with at least 1cm between each wedge.
Bake at 425 degrees for 11-13 minutes or until lightly browned.
